Welcome to the Mother Road Minute. I’m in Needles, CA at the Needles Regional Museum, home of Snoopy’s Big Brother Spike! The mural welcomes visitors to The Needles Regional Museum located on Front Street across from Santa Fe Park, El Garsis Hotel and Harvey House. Peanuts creator Charles Shultz lived here in the 1920’s and yes, had a dog named spike! Now Spike first appeared in the strip in 1975 and has appeared in Peanuts more frequently than any other of Snoopy’s siblings. Whiskers that look like a mustache and always sporting a hat… and in 1996, he was given Mickey Mouse’s shoes. Visitors are invited to come in and get a photo with Spike and learn more about the History of the City.
