Bagdad Cafe

Bagdad Cafe

This is the Bagdad Cafe, made famous by The International-award winning movie by the same name in 1987. The film featured CCH Pounder and Jack Palance. For history buffs, Bagdad is a former town on Route 66 east of ludlow that was bypassed by Interstate 40 and it originally did have a Bagdad Cafe, but the movie was filmed here at the once named Sidewinder Cafe in Newberry Springs some 50 miles west. The Sidewinder Cafe was built in 75 and was officially renamed the Bagdad Cafe in 1995 when it was purchased by its current owners. Easy to find from the east or west, south side of I-40 between Fort Cady Road and Newberry Road on Route 66.
